A manual boost control is a simple mechanical and pneumatic control that allows some of the pressure from the exhaust gas bypass valve actuator to escape or be vented to atmosphere or returned to the intake system.
This can be as simple as T-mounting the boost control wire near the actuator with a small drain screw. The screw can be tightened to varying degrees to allow air to escape from the system, thus relieving pressure on the exhaust gas bypass valve actuator and thus increasing boost levels.
