This extraordinary Seiko Mod homages the Limited Edition re-creates Seiko’s – and Japan’s -- 1965 first diver’s watch, an automatic timepiece with a then exceptional water resistance of 150 meters. Offering an extraordinarily legible dial and durable enough to become standard equipment for the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE), this landmark watch propelled Seiko into the forefront of dive watch design.

Following the original model, down to the look of the limited edition screwdown caseback, this superb re-creation has been updated and streamlined for today, with a 40mm diameter case, caliber NH35 movement and a higher quality box-shaped anti-reflective sapphire crystal. With a power reserve of approximately 41 hours, the 24-jewel automatic movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, and provides manual winding capability.

The classic dark gray sunray dial includes a date calendar and excellent C3 green lumed hands and markers, and is framed by a black uni-directional rotating elapsed timing bezel. Crafted of stainless steel with unique brushed and polished surfaces, this distinctive timepiece also features a black silicone strap, and follows ISO standards for scuba diving to depths of up to 200 meters.
