MEGA RARE VINTAGE ISRAELI MILITARY STYLE COLD WEATHER PARKA

PROBABLY ISRAELI MANUFACTURE - LIKE A HYBRID OF DUBON / SWEDISH M90 / US M65 FISHTAIL PARKA

OLIVE GREEN 35/65 POLYCOTTON - THICK INSULATION - KNITTED CUFFS

LABEL FADED - SOME WEAR - SIZE LARGE - ABSOLUTELY KILLER DESIGN AND QUALITY

For sale here is a vintage military style cold weather parka, the manufacturer label is sadly faded and no longer legible which is a crying shame as I hate it when I cannot attribute a piece of vintage clothing and am instead left guessing (If anyone knows what company made this PLEASE message me and put me out of my misery!).

I have dealt in Army Surplus since the early 1990's and have always had a parka addiction, when I came across this I immediately thought it was an Israeli Dubon parka, the cut, the insulation, the hood shape and the fact the hood is insulated, the poppers on the storm baffle, even the weight, it all reeks of an Israeli made Dubon and it is still my best guess that this was manufactured in Israel and sold as some sort of higher end Dubon military coat. However that is all conjecture and there are things which aren't quite so obvious Dubon about this parka, to start with the shell material is made not from a typical Dubon fabric but from a 35/65 polycotton poplin with a very fine texture which feels and looks very much like that used on US M65 fishtail parkas, furthmore the knitted cuffs are concealed in the sleeve like an N3B and not exposed like a typical Dubon, the pocket style and arrangement is nothing like a Dubon and finally the nylon lining material is thicker and feels more like that used on the Swedish M90 parkas!

All in all this mystery parka is a vintage civilian piece with serious military influences, it looks and feels like an Israeli Dubon but has many distinctive elements not the least the lovely OG poplin shell material. I absolutely love this parka and when I found it I wanted it to fit me but sadly it is simply too big, I take a Medium and this is definitely a large and at present I have my parka addiction under control so it needs to find a good new home with someone else who rates it as much as I do but whom it actually fits, it looks awesome.

CONDITION: Parka is in good clean as-found vintage used condition but it is not without minor flaws. The YKK zip is original and works fine, one male popper is missing from the baffle (Should be easy and cheap to replace), one of the hood buttons is missing (They are similar to N3B buttons), both cuffs show wear including holes (See photos, this is not terminal), and there is a patch of wear to one sleeve (Again see photos). Aside from these flaws the parka is still in good strong shape with a whole life left in it.

SIZE: Label size is LARGE, it fits true to size, on the tape measure it comes up as follows, remember it is thickly insulated: 52" chest (26" pit-to-pit), 20" across the shoulders, 20.5" under-arm, 26" total sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff, 34" from rear hood seam to bottom hem of parka.

A seriously cool and rare mystery vintage Dubon-ish military style cold weather parka for someone, great for any scooter boy who wants something warm and vintage but doesn't want to look the same as everyone else, I will be sorry to see this go but it needs a new home with someone who is the right size. I have priced this at what I would be prepared to pay for it were it my size, I wont mind have it hanging around for a while, you would pay more for a modern piece of Chinese rubbish!
