Up for bid is a pair of ceremonial teacups, each decorated with a dragon and a phoenix surrounded by clusters of swirling clouds in color. The two mythical motifs are hand-painted inside a clear panel where you can see the original semi translucent body of porcelain. Rest of the cup is painted in coral red sketched with golden hexagonal frames, a color pattern commonly seen in Japanese Kutani style. “HONG KONG” mark is seen on the bottom. Similar type of teacups was mainly exported from Hong Kong to the West during late 1800s to early 1900s. The dragon/phoenix pattern is commonly encountered in tea sets used in weddings.

The vibrant red color and meticulous details of the cups make them a great addition to any antique collection or for everyday use. Whether you are a fan of Asian antiques or simply appreciate the beauty of fine craftsmanship, these cups are sure to impress.

Please check each and every picture for condition of the teacups. No major crack is noted. Discoloration consistent with age of the objects is seen.
