"Young Healing Angel" is one in a short series of small original angel oil pastel paintings on canvas board. These oil pastel angels are designed to be gifts for children as well as devotional religious artworks with their touch of innocence and angelic quality. My oil pastel technique uses canvas board for texture and scratch marks for the highlights that give a rustic feel. All my oil pastel paintings have been protected with a layer of fixative but oil pastel can still smudge so I would recommend framing without glass or using spacers to keep the glass away from the surface.
This painting is new, in that it is an original unsold work of art, but being an original painting there is obviously no original packaging etc.
