KONICA (1) 1948 35mm film Camera 50mm f/3.5 Hexar Imperfect Condition

SERIAL: 21965 on top plate. 950551 inside camera

  • First 35mm Konica made: Konica (1).
  • Dates to 1948/9 with Hexar f/3.5 and ‘Made in Occupied Japan’ embossed on baseplate
  • Near excellent cosmetic condition. Imperfect mechanical condition
  • Wind on is fine
  • Lens extends and locks into position
  • Helical thread on rear of lens is not correctly installed, it can lock up the focusing (which is smooth) and doesn’t seem to be able to be secured in position
  • Rangefinder image does not move (as a consequence)
  • You can cock the shutter but it fires as soon as you take your hand off the cocking lever
  • Effectively, the shutter needs servicing and the fitting of the lens in the helical thread needs sorting
  • Lens looks clean and clear
  • Body in good condition, covering is breaking up in parts (as shown)
