Imperial German Prussian Guard Officers Pickelhaube with Storage Case.

The guards star on the chest has perfect enamel and it shows well with the guards officers eagle which retains all of its gilt.

The helmet is a vulcan fibre and is in excellent condition.

There are no extra holes in this helmet.

The top inside is stamped in relief with "D.R.G.M." which stands for Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster, meaning that the design or function of an item was officially registered inside all of the Germany states, along with "134542" which I assume is the patent number.

The silk liner and the sweatband shows some slight wear.

Comes in the transit case with the field cover and an original tin of pomade.

A beautiful helmet in beautiful condition.

Note: I've added a few pics of the helmet on black cloth. 5/25/24

The Prussian Garde Regiments were based in Berlin. These were elite regiments that also formed the bodyguard to Royal household. The leading aristocratic families would endeavour to get their sons into one of the Garde Regiments.

Another one of my helmets that's been in my collection for many years.
