Exquisite Art Nouveau Four Piece Silver Plate Tea Set with Tray by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik, Geislingen Germany).  Circa 1900. All Pieces are in Excellent Original Condition. Not polished, with a scattered light patina and one visible scratch on the surface of the tray. (Please see photos) Made of silver plated pewter with lovely floral Art Nouveau/Jugendstil design on all pieces. The set includes the tea pot, sugar bowl, creamer, and petal-shaped tray. The teapot is hallmarked with the WMF ostrich mark, B, 1/0, as. The sugar bowl and creamer are hallmarked with the WMF ostrich mark, B, 1/0, OX. The B at the end of the normal WMF stamp stands for Britannia base metal. This  stamp was used as early as 1880 until about 1918 and is considered to be rare.  Measurements: Tray is 14” across as its widest point and 9” at its narrowest; The teapot is 7.5” high including the finial on the lid and measures 7” from handle to spout; the creamer is 4” tall at the spout and measures 3” from handle to spout; the sugar bowl is 3” high at the handles with a 2.25” opening. Please note that at some point in the set’s long history the pieces have had lightly engraved identification numbers, which could be polished out. (See photos of hallmarks.)
