Here is a set of four advertising ink stamps from Rust Studio of Beeville Texas. Rust photographic Studio was owned and operated by Jennie Rust Dugat of Beeville. She was the area's first female photographer, and she opened her studio very early in the twentieth century (about 1901). She studied and learned photography back in Missouri, and moved to Texas in about 1900, working briefly in san Antonio, and then moving down to Beeville soon after. She married local rancher Sidney Dugat in 1905. The stamps on the left in the first picture are brass (one solid brass, and the other brass fastened to wood). The other two are regular rubber stamps on wood handles.
