The 2nd is a UPI Press Photo of Ralph & the UVA Cavaliers vs Chaminade University of Honolulu in December 1982 and the 3rd is also a UPI Press Photo of Ralph battling the Old Dominion University Monarchs in the Richmond Times-Dispatch Invitational Tournament also in December 1982.
Ralph played for the Cavaliers from 1979 - 1983. While at UVA he was a 3× College National Player of the Year (1981–1983), 3× Consensus First-Team All-American (1981–1983), 3× ACC Player of the Year (1981–1983), 3× First-team All-ACC (1981–1983), ACC Rookie of the Year (1980) and First-Team Parade All-American (1979)
He was selected by the Houston Rockets in the1983 NBA Draft as the 1st Overall Draft Pick. During his NBA Career he played for the 1983–1987 Houston Rockets, 1987–1989 Golden State Warriors, 1989–1991 Sacramento Kings and 1991–1992 Washington Bullets.
He retired as a 4× NBA All-Star (1984–1987), NBA All-Star Game MVP (1985), All-NBA Second Team (1985), NBA Rookie of the Year (1984) and NBA All-Rookie Team (1984).
He was Inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2012.
