Concerning a broadcast by Radio Tokio in Japan and confirming that her son 

Midshipman David Roome is a prisoner of war. 

David was rescued by the Japanese Imperial Navy 

after the sinking of HMS Exeter in the Battle of the Java Sea 

and imprisoned as a P.O.W.
