to Lance Corporal Gwilym Tyndal Evans 10765, 26th Royal Fusiliers

British Expeditionary Force, France

Marked "wounded" and stamped "Present Location Uncertain ... "

His parents were unaware at the time of sending that 

Gwilym was reported killed on 23rd September 1917, aged 20, 

at the Battle of the Menin Road Ridge, Ypres.

His body was never found and his death is recorded 

on the Tyne Cot Cemetery Memorial and on the Llandyssilio War Memorial 

Condition: as shown on scan, address and registered labels mounted on brown paper

(the parcel was returned to his parents in Clynderwen, Carmarthenshire)
