1.The cardan shaft connects the gearbox to the vehicle's axle drives via a universal joint and serves as the drive shaft.  It transfers the rotational force from the transmission to the rear axle, flexes and allows vertical (up and down) movements of the rear axle, provides a sliding movement to adapt to changes in the drive train length and ensures a smooth power transmission.
2.Why replace - When your drive shaft fails, the car would start with a clucking sound, and the chassis would always produce abnormal noise and the car body would produce obvious vibration during driving.
