Beautiful pastel on paper painting, under glass. Signature, lower right: KÁDÁR BÉLA. On the backside: "Könyves Kálmán Magyar Műkiadó Rt." exhibition number. Size: 59X40 cm, with frame: 71X52 cm. Pre-life: unknown. The painting is an old and unique piece. I could not find anything similar with signature "Kádár Béla" in the internet database.

"Könyves Kálmán Magyar Műkiadó Rt." was founded in 1903. From 1906, the "Könyves Kálmán Szalon" in "Nagymező street" in Budapest organized temporary exhibitions and auctions of works by Hungarian and foreign artists. "Könyves Kálmán Műkiadó and Szalon" played a major role in the presentation of contemporary Hungarian fine art. The "Szalon" also presented French and German painters in organized exhibitions, for example the works of Max Liebermann, Lovis Corinth, Walter Leistikow.
