This is possibly the creepiest picture I have ever owned. It’s an original pastel drawing of a young blonde girl in Victorian/Edwardian costume, standing in the dark (why?) on a tiled floor, holding the back of a bentwood chair containing her doll. Doll is dressed in a black hooded cloak, similar to a Spanish penitent or possibly a witch.

The picture has a definite presence and in the few months I’ve had it I’ve noticed a few instances of odd sounds in the house and objects going missing and turning up later. Time for a new home.

The overall size, including the frame, is approx 34 cm x 29 cm. The frame is traditional wood but not antique. Frame, glass and drawing are in good condition.
