This is a tested and working Townsend barbed wire fence stretcher. The handle is solid and the wire grip functions properly. I grew up on a farm in West Virginia in the 50s and 60s and have strung miles of barbed wire using one of these stretchers. Though antique, I don’t think a more efficient fence stretcher has ever been built. This stretcher is ready to go to work right out of the box. Please look at all of the pictures, they are part of the description. The stretcher is as I found it in a barn in WV, dust and dirt included. Other than oil the wire grip, I have not cleaned or altered the stretcher.

I have 3 of these stretchers, all are tested and working and in the same general good used condition. I have only pictured one of them so the one you receive may have slight variations from the pictures.
