Great skill and painstaking attention to detail by the artist make this mask an exceptional piece of art. It is a Kholo mask - a Ganja word which means "protect the jungle." This mask is akin to the customs and traditions of the Gonja tribal ancestors who they believe are in their final resting place - the forest. It is in excellent condition. It has been well cared for and has no major flaws anywhere.
