Item Description

A great antique signed oil painting on wood of a fly fisherman.  Shows a creek or river heading under a bridge with the fisherman working his way down stream.  Some minor wear, mostly near the edges where the frame had contact with the painting.  In a gesso or plaster covered frame.  Frame is about 23 by 15 inches.  Painting is about 18-1/2 by 10-1/2 inches.  There is a small amount of gold paint near the bottom center, probably from when the frame was repainted.  Some mild damage to the plaster work of the frame.  Wood canvas is held in with square nails.  Written on the back looks like Bobland Bridge near Klinik, 1869, but can not quite make the writing out.  Is signed, but I can not make out the artist name.
