Thank you for checking out this listing.

Paul says:

At long last, I have managed to find a really good quality fine art reproduction in full colour showing the Belvoir Foxhounds with Thomas Gossley, who is mounted on a fine bay hunter horse with the hunt kennels and Belvoir Castle in the background. The original painting sold in London at Christies in May 2000 for £113,750 ($167,781).

Thomas Goosey was huntsman to the Belvoir from 1817 to 1841 and was described by 'Nimrod' as 'being just what a man should be to assist hounds in a flying country like this. He had an eye like a hawk - very quick to his points, and was more than commonly sportsmanlike-looking on his horse'. He was succeeded by Will Goodall from 1842 to 1859. The Mastership of the Belvoir was held by the Dukes of Rutland until 1896, except when the 5th Duke retired from the field in 1829 and appointed his nephew, Lord Forester, who held the post until 1859.

Do please take careful note of the size of this item - it is huge, but oh so impressive.
