Taps & Drills are HSS (High Speed Steel), suitable for Mild Steels, Alloy Steels, Cast Iron, Aluminium, Plastics, Copper and various other materials where the thread has been damaged, stripped or worn. Usage of thread inserts not only repairs the damaged thread, it creates a stronger thread. The stainless steel inserts can also be used in applications where a stronger thread is initially required, ie. in the aircraft industry.
