WE ONLY SUPPLY QUALITY TESTED BATTERIES. WE HAVE VARIOUS SUPPLIERS OF CELLS AND THE PHOTO IS A STOCK PHOTO AND DOES NOT NECESSARILY REPRESENT THE BRAND OF BATTERY SUPPLIED.

The battery you will be sent will have shorter terminals and they will be welded on in a position that makes them safe for transit. 

The tabs are just there to enable the soldering on of an insulated wire so that the part that goes beyond the edge of the cell is insulated and thus minimise the possibility of shorting whilst in use.

The terminals are spaced to minimise this possibility of shorting whilst in transit, as we have no control of the way the mail is handled and we had a small explosion in our office from a 3V battery. 

We can theoretically weld any length of terminal in any position one wants at no extra cvost or inconvenience,  but for fire safety reasons posting batteries with terminals which are long enough to short isn't a risk we can afford to take.
