The Nippon Denso starter motor's fitted to the Rover KV6 MANUAL is prone to failure and are very expensive to replace.
Fortunately the starter is very reliable apart from the copper contacts in the solenoid which wear away.
These can be changed very easily in about 10 minutes once the starter has been removed from the vehicle.
The usual symptom is a clicking sound and intermittent starting.
