Nippon Denso starter motor's fitted to these Toyota's are prone to failure and are very expensive to replace. Fortunately the starter is VERY reliable apart from the copper contacts in the solenoid which wear away.
Fortunately the contacts can be replaced in about 10 mins once starter is removed from vehicle.
The usual symptom would be a clicking sound and intermittent starting.
