That's why he emphasized we must be thankful to Amida's favor. "Namu Amidabutsu" means "become a believer of Amida". He recommend to repeat this word. Because it's easy practice. Hounen was restorer of Japanese Buddhism. He changed Buddhism from ruler class into common people's. The hallmark of Jodo school's is crossed two circles. And one is a normal circle. Another have two tassels and metal ring.      This emblem is Jodo school's.And they are using Mitsu-aoi crest, too.  Jodo Shinshu was established by Shinran. Shinran was a pupil of Hounen and the founder of what ultimately became the Jodo Shinshu school in 12th century. This school is an idea which is developed Jodo Buddhism. The hallmark of his idea is “Akunin Shoki”. Jodo Shinshu Honganji temple was divided into two branches (East and West) by Shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu in 17th century. But doctrine is the same.
