Designed to Order

 Ideal Impala Professional Jump Saddle

This modern single flap saddle has been developed in conjunction with top riders to fulfill the need for closeness to the horse but without compromising on fit and has a close contact panel. The tree has a flat rake cantle for the more open seat, ideal for cross country and with a free swinging girthing system it allows fitting flexibility.

The Impala Professional Jump is available in sizes 17”, 17 ½” and 18”, in standard width fittings and in standard colours  Black, Sala, Ranch & Military.

The Impala Professional Jump Saddle is also available Designed to Order

DESIGNED TO ORDER

We can help you create your Ideal saddle!

We believe Ideal’s Designed to Order service gives you the best of both worlds: a saddle from a major, top quality, innovative manufacturer plus an individual specification for you and your horse.

This is what Ideal say about their Design to Order service:

“At the manufacturing stage we can, by design, make a range of alterations translating your most detailed requirements into the IDEAL saddle for you.

We can build up or lower the gusset at the rear, modify the panel in the area around the points, which fits into hollows at the base of the withers, to lift up the front of the saddle to suit thoroughbreds, or, in cases where the bearing area from the points needs to be lower, we have developed trees with extra-long points. Many more modification can be made to suit any horse and riders desires.”

In practise this means that “almost anything is possible” says Ian in terms of creating the perfect fit, stability, balance, comfort and appearance of your saddle.

For example you may need a saddle in a larger or smaller size than is available as standard, your horse may need special girthing arrangements or panels, you may prefer a particular shape, size and position of knee and thigh blocks, you may need a longer or shorter flap. These are just a few examples!

Then we come to how it looks! Perhaps something a bit special! You may like your saddle in a special leather in full or part. Contrast piping, two tone leather, coloured leather, decorative stitching, embossing and bling are all possible as are team and sponsor’s logos.

In most cases the Designed to Order service is included in the price of the saddle listed in this ebay shop but please see below for full details.

All saddles are made to order and will take 4 – 6 weeks to make. A fast track service is available if required.

WHAT IT COSTS

Each saddle from the Ideal range is individually priced in this ebay shop.

If your saddle is “Designed to Order”, all options and modifications at the manufacturing stage in terms of both fit and style under this service are included in our published price for each saddle. The only exception is if you choose to have the saddle made up in full or part in a non standard leather or if you would like to customise the appearance of your saddle with for example an embossed logo or "bling"! We would be very happy to give you a quote.

If your saddle is fitted to template, this will include a custom flock and possibly tree work by Ian and his team to achieve the perfect fit. This cost is £150 if you live in the UK, £200 for Europe and £300 for the rest of the world. It is the attention to detail that makes the difference when fitting a saddle. Not only must it be the right width, it must be the right shape for the horse. The saddle is made to specification at the manufacturing stage by Ideal and then any fine tuning is done by Ian and his team.

All saddles are made to order and take 4 – 6 weeks to make.

If you would like to fast track the making of your saddle, there is an additional charge of £150

We ask you for a deposit when you place the order. The balance is due when the saddle is ready for delivery.

OUR APPROACH

The importance of a correctly fitting saddle is widely recognised in creating a comfortable, freely moving horse and a secure rider, in balance with their horse. Achieving this goal is often fraught with difficulty.

In a perfect world, the saddle fitter visits the horse both before and after the saddle is made. However, this is not a perfect world! Not only is it not perfect, it is a different world: horses are kept for sport and pleasure all over the world and in places where a network of fitters of English saddles does not exist. That network can be very patchy at home in the UK compounded by the fact that many of us work full time and can’t be there when the saddle fitter can.

The solution is to combine modern communications with extensive experience, expertise and innovation in the art of saddle fitting and saddle manufacture.

Saddlesworldwide has teamed up with Minster Saddlery. Together we specialise in Ideal Saddles and Ideal’s Designed to Order service to provide this solution. Minster are experts in saddles and saddle fitting. They have a long established, excellent working relationship with Ideal. Together, we will be the team who will look after you, help you arrive at your specification and be your link to Ideal. Ideal is a market leader in the design and manufacture of English saddles and is a member of the Society of Master Saddlers.

We know it works, having successfully supplied and fitted Ideal saddles and “Designed to Order” saddles for a variety of types of horses not only in the UK but also in USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Italy and Ireland.

HOW IT HAPPENS

Please send us a message expressing your interest and asking any questions you may have about our saddle service. To quote Ian "with Designed to Order, you can have almost anything you want"!

If you live within our fitting visit area, we will arrange for Ian to have a chat with you about your requirements and then arrange to come and see you and the horse.

If you live outside this area or overseas, we will first of all enjoy an email conversation with you to build up a picture of you and your horse, your requirements and preferences.

We will discuss with you such things as:

- the type, breed, age, condition & shape of your horse/pony

- what you do/plan to do with the horse, whether you compete, if so in which discipline and at what level

- any fitting problems you are experiencing

- any problems with the horse's way of going

- your height, approx weight and proportions, for example you may be long/short in the leg

- your style/design preferences eg colour, type of seat, position and shape of knee and thigh rolls

You send to us:

- photos of your horse, the most important being of your horse in profile, unsaddled, standing as straight and square as possible on as level a surface as possible. It is also helpful to have a photo looking down and along the horse's back plus a few more to help us build up an overall picture of you and your horse, for example you mounted, the horse in movement.

- if you have or can take a video, that's great. Upload it to YouTube and send us a link. If you would rather send us a private video, please get in touch to arrange a file transfer.

- the templates of your horse's back which can be scanned and sent as an attachment to an email. If your enquiry becomes an order, we then ask you to send us the originals.

We send to you:

- instructions on how to take a template although you will find this in our shop pages. If you have any questions about taking a template, please do not hesitate to ask. It is quite straightforward and we can guide you through the process. If you are unsure, we may suggest you ask your trainer, instructor or a more experienced friend to help.

- a flexicurve with which to take the templates. These are widely available at office equipment shops and it may in some cases be quicker and easier to acquire one yourself.

Last but not least!

It helps to talk! So at some stage in this process, we suggest you have a chat with Ian on the phone. He can call you or vice versa, whichever is most convenient for you.

FITTING VISITS

If you live within a radius of approximately 75 miles from Central London, Ian can visit you and your horse in which case it is not necessary for you to send us photos and templates. Locations elsewhere by arrangement. Often it is possible to meet half/part way at an equestrian centre. Please enquire. Thank you.

THE EBAY TRANSACTION & PAYMENT

We suggest that you buy the saddle through this listing at any stage of the process although the best time might be when we have finalised the specification of your saddle and we are ready to place the order with Ideal. At this stage we would like a deposit (or payment in full) with the balance due when the saddle is ready for delivery. Your saddle will take 4 - 6 weeks to make.

AFTER SALES SERVICE

We are delighted to help in any way and so if you have any concerns or questions, we are here at the end of a phone or email to give you advice and suggestions.

Alterations can be made to your saddle in response to your horse materially changing shape or, in many cases, if you wish to use the saddle on a new or different horse. We can adjust the flocking and if necessary the tree can be adjusted or changed. Your saddle will be collected and returned at cost and there is a £100 charge for re-flocking and £100 for tree work. If a new tree is required, we will provide a quote for you. If you live in our visiting area, we can offer a free fitting check but ask that you pay the above charges if any adjustments are required.
