St. Maximilian Kolbe Pray For Us Coin
The Patron Saint of People with Substance Abuse Problems
or People in Recovery

St. Maximilian Kolbe is a Martyr and victim of the Auschwitz NAZI concentration camp.  When three prisoners disappeared from the camp, the NAZIS chose ten people to starve to death.  One man cried out that he had a wife and children.  Father Kolbe, a Franciscan Friar, volunteered to take the man's place.

After two weeks in an underground bunker, deprived of food and water, all of the prisoners except Father Kolbe had died.  The NAZI guards, impatient to have the bunker empty, gave Father Kobe a lethal injection of carbolic acid which killed him.

For this reason he is the Patron Saint of people who suffer from substance abuse.

This beautiful die struck coin, is made of brass, and coated in a beautiful gold tone matt finish.  This coin is a nice heavy coin weighing almost 1 ounce.

The front side has a bust of St. Maximilian Kolbe and the words St. Maximilian Kolbe Pray For Us.  The bottom of the coin, under the bust, says Singulos vive dies, this is Latin for,  “Live one day at a time”

The reverse of the coin has the Serenity Prayer.  Encompassing the Serenity Prayer are 12 footprints, each footprint is bigger than the preceding footprint, showing growth in recovery.

This is truly a beautiful coin for yourself, or someone you care about who is in recovery or struggling with addiction.
