The Solarbayer stratified buffer storage tanks SLS are heating water storage tanks in which the energy of heat generators (boilers, heat pumps, CHP, micro-CHP, solar systems, ...) is temporarily stored and, if necessary, returned to the heating system. The challenge is to make loading and unloading as efficient as possible, which is why the Solarbayer SLS buffer tanks are equipped with a patented, thermo-hydraulic layer control system [SLS®] in the forward and return lines. With this simple, maintenance-free but ingenious system, an exact stratification of the heat in the buffer storage is guaranteed with immediate availability. For the connection of a solar system, this storage can optionally be equipped with one or two large-area solar heat exchangers. With these extremely large solar heat exchangers, heat is transferred quickly to the buffer tank, which leads to a low return temperature and thus to an even better efficiency of the solar system. This enables optimal operation of the solar system with the highest output.
However, a heated buffer storage also causes certain heat losses. The heat conduction to the outside can be reduced to a minimum by good thermal insulation, for example with our fire protection thermal insulation ISO-B1 . If this criterion is a high priority in your selection, we recommend fire protection insulation Iso-B1-Plus (double thermal insulation), with which we achieve energy class A.

Buffer storage with ideal thermal stratification
The energy source for this buffer storage is arbitrary. The unique stratification system hydraulically distributes the heat and stores the energy in layers, so that the yields of different heat generators can be optimally stored and always called up by any type of consumer.
The Solarbayer layer guide insert from Solarbayer ensures stable, stable stratification and thus offers maximum energy efficiency. Storage water is supplied and removed in the internal SLS® layer guide insert at the top and bottom. There, the water sorts itself undisturbed by the pump volume flows according to the principle of gravity, so that it then stratifies into the corresponding temperature zone almost without flow. The heat generated flows through the storage tank as if through a pipe and is therefore immediately available for heat removal. So we have a perfect and extremely fast system.
The patented SLS® layer guidance system
The unique, maintenance-free and patented SLS® system from Solarbayer thus ensures that all upcoming thermal tasks (heating, water heating, etc.) are immediately fulfilled. Excess energy is stratified exactly. Usual heat losses from standard buffer tanks are largely prevented. This significantly improves the efficiency of every heat generator. The return of the heating system (radiators, underfloor heating, etc.) is the boiler or immediately returned to its return flow increase without having to deal with colder buffer storage medium to mix. Certified fire protection
When it comes to safety in the boiler room, there is currently no alternative to the tried and tested ISO-B1 ® buffer storage thermal insulation. With the Solarbayer fire insulation you have the guarantee for excellent thermal insulation properties. The insulation is flame retardant according to din 4102-1: 1998-05, confirmed by the material testing institute for the building industry in Hanover (MPA BAU; test certificate no. 121794). When comparing with the competition, note that the fire protection insulation ISO-B1 ® has been tested as a whole, not just the individual components, such as only the fleece. Thanks to the water-repellent properties of the fire protection insulation, the storage floor can also be insulated, which enables even better protection against heat loss. The insulation for the storage floor is of course included in the scope of delivery.
Fleece insulation material made from recycled fibers - tested for harmful substances
The fleece thermal insulation consists of 100% polyester and is manufactured in Germany using a modern and environmentally friendly process. Low in pollutants and practically odorless, it fulfills the requirements of the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 product class 1. You know such nonwovens from many areas of everyday life, for example in hygiene products, home textiles and the clothing industry. Solarbayer thermal insulation ISO-B1 ® can be recycled after use and added to new products. Our thermal insulation is already largely made of recycled plastic, such as beverage bottles. With thermal insulation from Solarbayer make a significant contribution to protecting valuable resources. Furthermore, the fleece is allergy-friendly, biologically harmless, without chemical additives, extremely durable, moisture-resistant, breathable, open to diffusion and resistant to mold and vermin infestation.
Produced in Bavaria by Solarbayer

Energy efficiency reduces costs
We do not wait for others, but continuously work ourselves actively to expand energy efficiency for heating systems. Our system technologies for the generation of renewable energies offer a maximum of security and economy. The storage tanks are tested in accordance with EN 12667 on the in-house Ecolabel storage test bench. Thanks to the more than double insulation thickness (100 mm plus 120 mm), we achieve energy efficiency class A for our heat accumulators up to 1000 liters with thermal insulation ISO-B1-Plus Use of renewable energies and thereby reduce heating costs.
