• 3mm Thick MDF.
  (Medium Density Fibre board) This is a very popular choice amongst crafters. Tan in colour. It is manmade using wood fibres and resin compressed together to create a board that is free from any knots, grain markings and has an even surface that needs very little work to achieve a nice finish (a little sanding between coats) It's thick enough to be strong and offers good value for money.
• 2mm Thick MDF. This is the thinnest in our range of shapes. Its light and thin so could be used for projects where this is important to the crafter. It has the advantage of a smooth finish and offers very good value for money. Normally a little darker in colour than the 3mm MDF.

As with all laser cut shapes, you will generally find one clean side. The reverse may have some small marks left over from the laser cutting process. This can be easily sanded off with some fine sandpaper or decorated over. The edges of all the shapes will have a brown edge, again easily painted or left natural for a lovely rustic look.
Although our shapes are easy to paint with most paints intended for wood and crafts. We recommend you take a look at some online tutorials before attempting it for the first time. Applying the wrong paint in the wrong way could easily spoil the finish of your shapes. If in any doubt, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
