Magdalene's Bloom
        Coffee Almond Sugar Scrub
with Precious Oils Nutmeg and Vanilla
                                     2oz/59ml

This coffee almond sugar scrub is a richly scented delight for ALL skin types.

The exfoliating power of this finely blended scrub comes about by using several mediums for action; Raw Demerara Sugar, Pure Organic Sugar, Ground Coffee and Almond Meal--each of different textures to bring about a scrubbing, buffing and polishing action all at once.

Directions for Use: Take 1-2 teaspoons out of container and place in seperate container as not to contaminate the scrub. Apply to clean and dry skin. DO NOT use water because the sugar will melt. Scrub towards the nose in small, slow circles. Try to scrub face and neck for 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Do Not use soap to wash off oil. This is a scrub to be used during a time when you are not rushed.

Combined with Almond Oil, Pure Vanilla Oil and Nutmeg Essential Oil; your skin will be exfoliated and treated beneath the surface cells of the skin.

The Stratum Corneum is a layer of dead skin cells that function as a barrier to protect the living skin cells against dehydration, infection, chemical and mechanical stress. These dead skin cells are shed when proteases (protein enzymes) break the bonds holding the dead skin cells together.

Nutmeg Essential Oil contains many health benefits but for this purpose it breaks the keratin bonds between dead skin cells and penetrates beneath this surface layer where lively, bright skin cells are hiding. When these bonds are broken and cells are exfoliated, the skin will have a "spring back" appearance until these bonds are again bridged.  This is the reason why your skin looks so much younger  and tone after a good exfoliating scrub.

Another benefit of Nutmeg Essential Oil is its antiseptic properties which fight infection deep beneath the surface cells. If one is battling pimples or acne, it is imperative to exfoliate the dead surface cells to be able to expose and treat afflicted cells in the layers beneath (dermis). Acne and pimples are formed from the subaceous glands which are attached to the hair follicle pores. Nutmeg Essential Oil penetrates deep into this gland unblocking trapped sebum (waxy/oily substance) and attacks infection. This amazing scrub also cleans the hair follicle pores that house blackheads. Pimples, Acne and Blackheads have nothing to do with the sweat pores. You can not "sweat out" pimples.

Pure Vanilla Oil is a good source of B-vitamins like niacin, thiamin, Vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid which play an important role in the maintenance of healthy skin. The antioxidant properties of vanilla protect your skin from damage caused by environmental pollutants and toxins. Vanilla is RICH in antioxidants which prevent and reverse skin damage caused by free radicals. It helps to slow down signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles and age spots.

The antibacterial properties of Vanilla make it beneficial for the treatment of acne. Vanillin, through its antibacterial effects, helps cleanse your skin, reducing the occurrence of pimples and acne.

Borage Seed Oil  has been shown to be very effective in treating the redness, inflammation, and moisture loss associated with dry skin.  Borage oil is excellent for skin health, helping restore the suppleness, elasticity and tone of tired, dry, or scarred skin. Borage oil is widely used in cosmetics, because its combination of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids nourish the epidermis, giving it an extraordinary capacity of regeneration. High in salicylic acid, borage oil is widely used in cosmetics for its anti-acne and anti-septic qualities.

Almond Oil is rich in Vitamin A, B and E, which are great for skin health. It is high in linoleic and oleic acids. This oil helps maintain moisture levels of the skin and gets absorbed quickly without blocking the pores. It works to remove puffiness around the eyes as well as dark circles.
In my opinion, Almond Oil is the best for exfoliating scrubs.

Almond Oil has fatty acids; linoleic and oleic, that dissolve the sebum which cause acne to be formed beneath the skin's surface.

Almond oil is good for the Youngins' and the Oldens'

Coconut oil is a medium chain fatty acid. It has relatively small molecules that allow it to penetrate the skin. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids such as capric acid, caprylic acid and lauric acid. The fatty acids have disinfectant and anti-microbial properties. Coconut oil is high in vitamin E, which is known for its skin healing properties. The triglycerides in coconut oil help to keep moisture from escaping from the skin, which aids in retaining softness and suppleness.Signs of aging occur when free radicals cause the connective tissue in the skin to break down. Coconut oil's high antioxidant levels slow the harmful effects of free radicals in the body. This prevents the damaging actions that lead to signs of aging.

Ground Gourmet Coffee
Ground Coffee revitalizes all skin types!
Coffee contains caffeine with constricts the blood vessels beneath the skin's dead cell surface to tighten and tone the face. Coffee has been proven to be high in anti-oxidants which fight the affects of age as well as premature aging.
For acne, Wonderful! It works to to stop the production of sebum in the hair follicles. The texture of ground coffee is satisfyingly course enough to get the job done without damaging lower surface skin cells.

To sum it up, this is an exquisite coffee sugar scrub made for both the Young and Forever Young Beauties.  Very little is used during each treatment, a teaspoon or two. This 2 oz container should give you 10-12 good scrubs.
