VERY FINE SMALL TURKISH HEREKE OR KAYSERI SILK RUG

Description

For your consideration is a small Turkish Hereke or Kayseri silk on silk rug with black background and salmon borders. This rug measures 27-5/8” (70 cm) long or 33” (84 cm with fringes) X 18-5/8” (47 cm) wide and weighs 540 Grams. It is, indeed, a small but very fine piece with low pile. Its exact average knots per square inch is1,173 (182 knots per square cm or rounded up, as is customary among dealers, to 14/14 per cm). It is in very good condition with excellent proportions: it has no bulge, smudge, wear or tear. This rug is not signed but has all the characteristics of a Hereke (selvage, knot, fringe and dye). In our opinion, it is either an unsigned Hereke or a Kayseri made in the Hereke manner. It was preserved under a glass topped frame and we took it out of its frame for inspection and knot count. For convenience and security purposes, only the rug will be shipped. (Please see pictures)

Refund Policy

As a general rule, there is no refund except in the case of a major discrepancy in the listing, in which case, it will be given as money back minus shipping costs and after re-inspection of the item.

Item is to be returned in its original condition without any alteration and within 14 days after receipt.

We do not refund for buyer’s remorse and we do not negotiate partial refunds afterwards. Please make sure and bid accordingly.
