Pat's Audio on/off power switch for the Philips 212 and 312 turntables (and more).

You will find our switch to be the most reliable, durable, and high quality switch available. We use it exclusively in our shop when completing customer repairs. It has a high safety rating (safe for use worldwide) and its heavy duty superior construction gives it a long lasting 10,000+ cycle lifespan. Our switch is much sturdier than the original and other similar replacements.

Our switch has been modified for installation as the mounting bracket holes have been opened for easy screw alignment. Use the existing switch mounting bracket and screws when installing the new switch.  Also included is an all important power safety capacitor.  Philips added the safety capacitor on later models. The capacitor will prevent the loud "pop" heard through system speakers when the turntable is powered on and off.

And for your convenience we include a replacement aluminum cap.  The beautiful machine finished aluminum is a bit brighter than the matte silver finish on the original cap yet it still provides you with a good solution should you be missing the original cap.

With the turntable unplugged from the power source disconnect the wires leading to the old switch and then solder the two wires to either the left or right side pole pairs (1 top and 1 bottom from same side) on the new switch. Solder the safety capacitor to the same poles as the wires. Secure the new switch to the chassis with the original screws and mounting bracket.  Don't forget to put the push button cap onto the switch plunger before installing.

Special Note:  Philips used a couple of different switch types. The connection points differ and the plunger stem dimension can vary.  Some units even have more than two wires connected to the switch. If you have a four wire switch feel free to contact us if you have any questions on how to install our switch. Or, if you want to forego soldering altogether please see our pre-wired switches that makes installation a snap.

If you have any questions as to the type of switch you have or how to make the wiring connections please contact us. As longtime trusted and respected turntable service and repair experts we'll be glad to assist you.
