Matilda Dixon was well known to the local children of the 1850s New England town called Darkness Falls for paying them for teeth that they lost. When two children disappeared, Matilda was blamed for the mystery and was lynched by an angry mob. In 2002, Kyle Walsh (Chaney Kley), former Darkness Falls resident now living in Las Vegas, is still haunted by the experience of meeting the ghost of Matilda. When his childhood friend Caitlin (Emma Caulfield) tells him that her brother Michael (Lee Cormie) is having the same nightmares that Kyle once suffered, Kyle agrees to return to Darkness Falls to end the nightmares.
