This is a group of 4 map sets which show where some of the homeowners lived in the Towns of North Castle, Bedford and New Castle, Westchester County, New York in 1911. (plates 37-38-40-41) These maps were reproduced on fine natural color antique style parchment paper. They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat.

The pictures provided show only portions of the actual maps, please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homes, lots and estates for this time period. Some of the towns and villages contained in this map group are Bedford, Armonk, North Castle, New Castle, Mount Kisco, Bedford, Banksville, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Whitehall Corners, Bedford Center, Lewisboro, Somers and more. Each map set is actually one map scene yet is split into two to show better detail. Please note that although some surnames are present, many of the more heavily populated sections and the undeveloped areas won't show them. What's key here is to check out the 8 pictures I have provided. Please keep in mind that due to the limited size of my scanner bed, portions of the maps may not be shown.

The first map set is shown in the first 2 pictures and the second map set consists of the 3rd and 4th pictures. The third map set is shown as the 5th & 6th pictures and the fourth map set is identified in the 7th & 8th pictures.

Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Ferris, Briggs, Waterbury, Hartmann, Townsend, Armstrong, Purdy, Bishop, Hunter, Smith, Wayne, Close, Watkins, Hammond, Higgins and  so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the maps are schools, named streets, cemeteries, some businesses, railroads and rivers/streams. Some of the features of this map group is Lake Kensico, Rye Lake, Kensico Reservoir, Byran Lake Reservoir, Mianus River, Samuel Bargh Reservoir, Bedford Union Cemetery, Bedford Golf & Tennis Club, Stone Hill River, Cross River reservoir, Croton Reservoir and so much more.

It would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors!  Multiple purchases can be combined for one shipping charge!  Please check out my other listings for many other fine old town maps!
