Hydrangea petiolaris is a very useful self-clinging, fully hardy, deciduous climbing plant. It produces masses of white flowers in summer from May to August that can reach 25cm across in size. Plants can be slow growing to start with but will reach a height of up to 15 metres (50 feet) once established. Can be easily pruned back to any required height or size in autumn. Plants are grown and supplied in 2 litre pots on bamboo canes with a colour label. Total height of pot and canes measures 60cm. These plants love a shady or north facing position. Plant in any fertile, moist but well drained soil. The plants have a good root system and can be planted out at any time of the year.
