  Vigorous vines of the Table Queen Acorn Squash produce medium sized dark olive-green acorn shaped deeply ribbed fruits. Productive and compact! Sweet, dry, golden-yellow flesh is excellent for baking. Great keeper! Mature fruit are 5-6" long x 4-4.5" in diameter with a thin hard shell. Average water needs. Attractive to bees, butterflies, and/or birds.

  This bush type acorn squash was introduced in 1913 by the Iowa Seed Company of Des Moines. An heirloom variety, it sets the standard for acorn squash. Winter squash varieties such as Table Queen were domesticated by Native Americans from indigenous types of squash. Table Queen won the prestigious AAS Award in 1939.
