If you are not familiar with quartz mechanisms
Beware !! .. Do not rely solely on the manufacturer's name.
Please read carefully the movement description
and/or my guide at the bottom of this listing

Since all manufacturers make various models and variations,
matching the factory name
or part number alone will not guarantee that your hands will fit.
It is always recommended to measure the hands' spindles to identify the correct movement

~~ You need a good vernier or micrometer to measure the spindles properly, a ruler is not accurate enough ~~

.... and if you are still unsure what type of movement you need,
you are welcome to send me your mechanism and hands and I will select the correct one for you.
There is a small charge for this service

but always check the shafts' diameters to be sure that your hands will fit,
because all manufacturers make variations upon customers' request

*(Older models Seiko and SKP movements can be VERY troublesome to replace, please get in touch for advice)

but, when choosing a replacement mechanism, please also compare the brass-thread length

Included with movement: Movement-fixing nut, rubber washer, metal washer.
if you also order the hanging hook, please keep in mind that the hanger will reduce the shaft-length by 1mm.
You will need a new hanger only if your old mechanism has an integral hook, otherwise you can re-use your old one

- No hands are supplied as standard ... this movement is intended as a replacement of the original one ...
you will be able to re-use your own hands.
- If you also want to buy the hands for this movement, please follow this link .. Push-fit hands, 5.5 & 3.6mm holes
- In some instances, your seconds-hand may not fit or it is damaged ... usually those with a plastic "pipe",
If you would like a free seconds-hand, please attach a message with your order. Specify length and colour.

Other IMPORTANT notes:
1) When choosing a replacement mechanism, I advice to compare the brass thread length.
The thread must be long enough to be able to secure the movement to the clock
2) Large clocks with long hands (over 150mm) will require a High-Torque mechanism

3) If your movement has a round central nut (instead of an exagonal one), please use the original nut... it will fit.
This type of nut alters the effective length of the shaft
4) If the minute hand is not push-fit, but it is secured by a small nut on a threaded shaft,
this is the wrong mechanism; the blue link will take you to the correct listing ... "I" shaft mechanisms

5) Due to manufacturing tolerances, sometimes, you may have to make a small adjustments to the hands.
(If the hands are very tight, it is advisable to open-up the holes slightly)
6) Do not confuse this mechanism with the Japanese-style one with larger spindles ... 5.5mm and 3.6mm
7) For a longer life of the mechanism, it is always best to use rechargeable batteries
Small Tip : If your seconds-hand or seconds-cap with plastic pipe is good but it is too loose ... do not try to squeeze it tighter or it will break
just smear some superglue on the inside of the pipe, when it is dry, try it again.
If it is too tight you can open it up slightly to achieve the perfect fit

How to select the correct movement:
As a general rule, there are 3 common types of movements: European/German-style,  Japanese-style and Chinese-style ...
that is irrespective of the name on the movement and country of origin !!
Because all manufacturers make variations, matching the name alone will not guarantee that you have chosen the right one.
The main feature that differentiates them is the ... hands' spindles dimensions and shape
So, in order to select the correct replacement for your clock, you must compare the spindles ... not just the name on it
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
1)European models: The usual names are UTS, Hechinger, Hermle, Junghans, EL etc
These models secure the mechanism by means of a flanged nut with exterior thread, which screws into the clock body
Hands' fittings: Hour-hand Ø4.95mm ~ Min-hand is held in place by a nut onto an oblong brass threaded shaft, 2.8x 3.5mm .... link to the listing
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Chinese and Japanese models are easily identifiable, as they have a length of brass-thread fixed to the clock body and a nut that screws on it.
These two look exactly the same to each other, the only difference is the dimension of the hands' spindles
2) Japanese: hour-shaft Ø 5.5mm, minute-shaft Ø 3.6mm, with push-fit hands ... link to the listing
3) Chinese: hour-shaft Ø 5mm, minute-shaft Ø 3.10mm, with push-fit hands ..... link to the listing
3a) Chinese variant, "I" shaft: this model has the minute-hand secured by a nut onto an aluminium or brass oblong threaded shaft ...
similar fitting to the European ... but they cannot be confused, because the chinese one has the characteristic brass thread attached to the clock body.
     Hand-fitting dimensions: Hour shaft Ø 5mm - Min shaft 2.8 x 4mm with M4 thread ... link to the listing
4) With Pendulum Module: Sometimes you may find that your clock is made up of 2 separate parts... a standard mechanism inside a pendulum module. The module's only function is to drive the pendulum

Of course, there are always exception to the rules ... all manufacturers have made variations !!
