You can "push" water
hundreds of feet laterally. The "lift" (also known as
"head") is the distance from the TOP level of the water being pumped
from to the distance above this that the water is being raised and released.
To achieve Maximum performance from these pumps - your plumbing should be
"efficient" (of proper diameter of 2" or larger, eliminate any
unnecessary 90 degree elbows and replace with 45 degree elbows, or
"Sweep" elbows which are elongated to decrease friction loss.
FYI: One (1), 90 degree "tee" fitting has the same friction equivalent to 17
extra feet of pipe! Whereas a gradual turn from flexible piping or
from a sweep type elbow is equal to about 5 feet of pipe. As you
can see a few extra dollars spent on pvc pipe for an efficient plumbing setup
can pay off dramatically.
You can run this pump 24hrs a
day..............Continuously for a month for about $15-$18 dollars in
electricity!! These pumps have been used for replacements of in-efficient
swimming pool type pumps that can cost $100 to $175 per month to
operate!! If you're pumping water continuously - these pumps CAN
& WILL Pay for themselves quickly!

Only and eliminate 90degree elbows or tees, etc (one 90 degree fitting has the
equivalent friction loss factor of an additional 17 feet of pipe!!) Best
is to use: 45 degree fittings OR flexible polytheylene pipe or flexible PVC pipe
for "gradual" bends. The "Golden
Rule" here is that a few extra $$$ spent on piping will pay off big over the
years with increased performance!!!
