1 pr H4 JTX Premium Alloy HID Globes Bulbs 12V 24V 35W 55W 70W 4300K 6000K +more

This is a pair of HID Hi/Lo H4-3 globes. 2 x Globes and they are brand new, here in Melbourne ready to post

These are JTX Premium Alloy globes.

Ideally we have listed these so people can buy a spare globe or pick up a replacement for a kit that is out of warranty or maybe try some new colours. Typically this "Premium" globe will work on just about every single H4 Hi/Lo HID kit out there on the market. We sell to a lot of people who have had trouble with cheap kits.

This globe is exclusive to us - we identified where the normal H4 HID globes were failing and addressed these with the factory. The following improvements were made ...

  • Internal improvements to connections, gases and materials.
  • Can only be clicked together just 1 way - eliminates being mounted upside down causing light scatter in low beam
  • The lock in is a lot more secure. The cheaper globes would wriggle loose and the globe stalk would fall out while driving and set fire to the rubber boot or anything combustible it comes into contact with - that was primarily the start of our quest for the ultimate HID globe.
  • The body is not plastic but alloy and the globe base is seated in ceramic. Means it can tolerate much higher temperatures and not melt. Cheaper globes tended to melt with 55w or 70w ballasts. These are working great even with our 120w ballasts. (Note we don't have a Hi/Lo loom that can take 120w so it is not available as a 120w kit yet)
  • 100% waterproof. This will work completely submerged under water.
  • The alloy body is cnc machined aluminium and will not rust or corrode. It will not crack, split or fatigue like the plastic ones once subjected to heat.
I have also listed this globe as a qty of x 1 for those just looking for 1 x globe..

The specs are as follows ..

  • H4 HID Hi and HID Low beams
  • Suitable for 35w 55w and 70w applications
  • 12V and 24V
  • 4300K (white). If you want 6000K (white with a hint of blue), 8000K (blue) or 10000K (very blue going purple) or even 12000K or 15000K then let me know when you buy
  • 100% Waterproof
Our JTX HID globes generate just 15% more heat than a conventional incandescent bulb of the same watts. So with a 55w ballast this HID bulb generates less heat than a conventional 65w bulb (which is normal high beam for most cars) and so there is no fading or problems with lights and even plastic headlights.
The most common myth is people get confused between colour ratings and brightness. Brightness is achieved by the watts of your ballast. The ballast punches out the watts and the brightness. Your globe has to be able to handle what the ballast delivers. These can handle up to 150 watts but work a treat with 35w 55w and 70w ballasts as well. The colour ratings set at the factory determine the whiteness or amount of blue the lights produce. 4300k is our default colour and is pure white. 6000k is white with a hint of blue. 8000k is white with a fair amount of blue and 10,000k is getting blue. We also do 12,000k and 15,000k and that's getting almost purple. This k (kelvin) rating is certainly not a brightness like a lot of people think (They feel the bigger the number the brighter it must be) in fact the darker the colour the less effective it becomes. Have you ever heard of a dark light being bright?
Unless we hear from you by ebay message or a note made at payment we will send you 4300k. You can ask for any of the following colours and there is no difference in price...

Do you know how HID works? Electricity passes in the form of an arc (continuous spark) through a chamber of Xenon gas. The gas lights up and the stronger and more intense the spark (bigger ballasts) the brighter it gets. To make a strong constant arc you need a lot of volts and so the job of the ballast is to transform the volts from 12 to 23,000 volts and it does that just like the coil delivers power to spark plugs in a petrol car. The biggest problem faced with such high volts is a tendency to want to short across or arc out on other metal objects and so the wires and components are well insulated. This should explain why you cant go cutting and lengthening wires between ballasts and globes - you will inevitably get a voltage drop or a poor insulation short out.

Here is what makes up the globe. Although it should never be required you can in fact take it apart to service it and we could replace a component years down the track if needed. Now I promise you cant get that from a Chinese supplier or his plastic globe...

In the HID world this globe is referred to as H4-3 shifting. The globe part comes on and stays on no matter which beam. In low beam the bottom half of the light's reflector is shaded so as not to cast light upwards. When you flick to hi beam the globe stalk shifts by use of a solenoid powered by 2 thin wires in the wiring harness. Not only does the bright spot of the globe shift into the focal point of the reflector but light is no longer shaded and all of the light's reflector casts light . It's common knowledge that HID globes take a few seconds to reach full brightness - by not turning on or off between hi and low there is no dark time or warm up periods.

The process of fitting these to lights is as follows. (Be careful not to touch the glass with your fingers)

Step 1. Twist the globe apart at the green seal. It is a 1/4 turn anti-clockwise with your right hand and then pull apart.

Step 2. Boot easily slips onto globe. Slide the boot as far back as it will go as this makes room for connections later.

Step 3. Fit the globe base to the light and lock it into place.

Step 4. Fit globe back to base in the light - remember a 1/4 turn this time clockwise to lock it in. It will only click together easily one way but if you are unsure of which way up the globe clicks in it will sit so the shield is sitting like a cup as if it could hold water. The shield has to shade the bottom half of the light.

Then push the rubber boot back along the globe towards the light as far as you can get it so the boot has a good tight fit against the light. That will ensure dust and water stays out.

You cant just plug this into a light and expect it to work. Being HID it needs a ballast and a wiring harness which are all in my complete kit which I also sell. I also sell these parts separately. If you are new to HID and want a full kit then here is the link to my very popular and most reliable and waterproof kit ..

This globe would suit every H4 HID kit I have ever sold. The Ballast plugs are universal with all HID kits so even if you have someone else's kit this would suit as a spare or replacements. Here's a note - the bigger wires that run from ballast to globe carry 23,000Volts and so dont go cutting them as they will never work properly again if re-joined. The thin solenoid wires can be cut and soldered in the event you have an different hi/lo plug . These plugs can vary but these wires can be cut.

I stock these globes and they are ready to send to you.

We have sold thousands of these and so through the test of time we can confidently warranty these for 1 year knowing they are excellent quality. We can see from your feedback we automatically leave you when you pay that you are covered and so no need to even come up with proof of purchase. Being based here in Melbourne it's a fast easy process.

JTX Lighting offer the following solutions ...
  • Halogen,
  • LED
  • HID

Here's an explanation for each... Halogen is incandescent meaning power runs through a very fine wire which glows hot. It is surrounded by Halogen gas which not only contains no oxygen so there can be no rusting but Halogen shines brightly when heated. LED (Light Emitting Diode) has come ahead in leaps and bounds and offers very bright light especially up close to the vehicle. The light source is over a larger area and so it spreads wide to the delight of most drivers but much of it is not in the focal point of the light and so doesn't travel great distance. HID (High Intensity Discharge) trumps everything with exceptional brightness and very long range. The light output of HID is amazing. HID works by passing a constant spark or arc of electricity across a field of Xenon gas. To achieve such an arc the volts are increased by ballasts which transform 12v or 24v to 23,000 volts. By it's very nature power at those volts wants to short out and so it is imporatnt to stick with quality brands such as JTX when using HID to maintain reliability.
