Vandoren Traditional reeds in their “Blue Box” have been the favourite reeds of professional saxophonists around the world for decades and used by the likes of Lee Konitz and Stan Getz.

This reed is French filed and designed to produce a quality of extremely pure sound due to a very thin reed tip (the area of reed with maximum vibration), balanced by a solid vertebral column (more cane in the area which climbs gradually to the heel).

Traditionals feature the thinnest tip with the thickest heart, resulting in crisp articulation with a full, dark sound.

Reeds are sold individually from larger boxes.  The nature of individual reed packaging will vary depending on how the larger boxes were filled by the manufacturer.  In particular the 1, 1 1/2 and 4 strength reeds have the Vandoren older style packaging and come in the standard plastic holder but are not foil wrapped However, all reeds will be packaged so that they will not be damaged during delivery.
