This remote control will permanently remove the region 2 locking of your Sony dvd unit.
After using the remote you will be able to play any DVD from around the world.
Just point the remote at your player press the button and in less than 20 seconds your player will be region free.

Sony's Blu-ray range. (Region free DVD playback only) Blu-ray playback will still be locked. The Blu-ray regional locking of a player can not be removed by using a remote hack.

The remote only works for Sony's BDP-S1100 with firmware M14R0179 or lower.
Sony's firmware from Mxx.R.0164 (25/12/2014) now prevents the use of the remote hack. You must use the remote to convert to region free before updating to this firmware version.

1. Use the remote that came with the player to bring the player out of standby, Remove disc from player. 2. Press the button on the region remote. Wait for geen led to stop flashing. 3. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote. 4. Switch the power off and back on. Next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback.
