Yamaha Propeller - 9.9-20HP, Dia 9 1/4", Pitch 11"

These low cost, high quality PowerWing, lightweight propellers for Yamaha outboard motors are vacuum casted in aluminium to improve tensile strength and reduce possibility of gas bubbles. The propeller is then threefold powder coated for maximum protection and appearance.

All parts for a PowerWing propeller are made in the PowerWing factory using proprietary moulds and machinery.

PowerWing your guarantee of quality.

Each propeller has a rubber hub or inner hub bushing made of unique hard rubber, moulded to a proprietary splined brass spindle (corrosion proof coating) to keep the propeller precision-centred on the propshaft, dampen vibrations and help protect the shaft from the severe shock of striking a submerged object with the propeller.

These are the equivalent of OEM Part no:  63V-45943-00-EL

This propeller has accepts a 8 spline shaft and is Thru Hub Exhaust.

Propeller markings indicate, for example 9 ¼ X 11 J:

  • The propeller diameter (in the example above 9 ¼ inches).
  • The propeller pitch. Pitch is the theoretical travel of a propeller through a mass per revolution (In the example above, 11" pitch propeller moves forward approximately 11 inches per revolution).
  • The letters indicate the horsepower rating applicable for the propeller (in the example above, J indicates suitability for 9.9 to 15 HP Yamaha outboard motors).

There is always some percentage of inefficiency as water conditions, boat weight and propeller style are introduced into the performance equation.

The lower the “slip factor,” the more efficiently the propeller will perform and the faster the speed at a given engine RPM.

Lower pitches accelerate faster but have a lower top end speed.

Higher pitches have a slower acceleration but may attain higher top speeds.

An inch of pitch generally is equal to 150 – 200 engine RPM at wide open throttle (WOT).

If pitch is increased by an inch, RPM will decrease by 150 – 200 RPM at WOT.

If pitch is decreased by an inch, RPM will increase by 150 – 200 RPM at WOT.

Always operate your boat/engine combination within the recommended RPM range guidelines as stated in your operator’s manual.
