Auction is for a C. P. GOERZ AMERICAN OPTICAL CO. "GOLDEN" DAGOR 8.25 INCH f:6.8. Lens mounted in a very clean Synchro-Compur Shutter, With mounting flange, Non-Goerz Front and Rear Lens Caps.  Shutter Speeds (1 sec through 1/10) are slow; all others (1/25 through 1/400) appear to be accurate.  The glass is near mint, no scratches in the glass and no visible cleaning marks but some dust, and only the very slightest amount of paint missing from front lens bezel.  Because of the Slow shutter speeds and missing paint I would described this lens as Very Good  + Condition.

With an Image circle of 399mm this Lens will easily cover up to 8X10 and 10X12 wide open.

This is a vintage lens perhaps more than 50 years old, and as such is being SOLD AS-IS with no returns.

A few General Comments about a Lens’ Condition:

What is the difference between a scratch in the glass of a lens and a hairline wipe mark? A scratch can be felt when you gently run a fingernail across it and a hairline wipe mark is only in the coating and cannot be felt. A scratch may refract light if it’s deep enough. A wipe mark won't.
Vintage means usable but not necessarily perfect optically, mechanically or cosmetically.
