You are looking at a range of intumescent fire blocks that are used to protect the fire rating of internal doors should you need to vent the room behind the door.
Typically used in conjunction with non-vision grilles for toilets, store rooms, internal corridor doors, etc.
These are fully certified UK made 1HR rated (60 minutes) Intumescent blocks.
Should a fire occur either side of the door the blocks react to the heat & expand to form an impenetrable fire barrier to last for at least 1hr thus preserving the rating of the fire door.
We supply these to the building trade regularly and can provide the fire certificate & test details if required.
The units are square and appx 45mm thick. So if you had a 300mm square hole you would use a 300mm square block, and on either side of the block fit a non vision pressed steel grille to tidy the finish and keep the block in place.
