For sale rare CD player based on a famous Philips' TDA 1547 DAC chip,
also known as DAC7.

Very well built CD player from the era when Kenwood was in the same league
of audio equipment with Sony, Marantz, Technics, Denon - a far cry from
today's leadership in a kitchen appliances department, shame...
It's heavy, feels substantial, has big, clear display and,
true aluminum front fascia. Laser in a very good condition, plays even CD-R's.

Whole analog output stage originally based on op-amp has been bypassed
and replaced with a valve output stage.

From a current output of a DAC chip (after passive I/U conversion using paired
metal oxide resistors) the signal feeds
two Tesla EF86 tubes -

these can be easily replaced/upgraded with the other tubes of the same type
(identical to EF86 = 6CF8 = 6Ж32П = 6267 = 6BK8 = Z729 = 6F22 = CV2901 )

Additionally, all important capacitors in digital section has been upgraded
a quality brand new units, the analog section has received a similar treatment:
OS-CONS, Nichicon MUSE, and Audyn caps QS4 after tubes.
Plus, the IEC power inlet has been fitted.

Sorry, no remote controller.
(Shouldn't be a problem to find it on ebay...)

After the modification, it has been auditioned for no more than 10 hours.

I am happy to demo if collected in person from AL1.

Will ship worldwide - please email me for shipping cost to your country.

Due to nature of my work I can post only twice a week - thanks for understanding.
