Very rare Eastman Leathers Sheepskin. 422A USN leather flight jacket, handpainted on the back for Eastman leathers with Vintage Popeye Patrol graphic and patch. Worn only once. Any Distressinhg on teh jacket is part of the original design. No paper swing label, but complete with original Eastman packaging. Eastman x tsptr USN VP-6 'Popeye Patrol' M-422a Flight Jacket US Navy Patrol Squadron Six was established during WWII but continued its lineage into the 1990s. Known as the 'Blue Sharks', at some point during the late 1940's they adopted comic strip icon Popeye as their mascot. We have recreated the VP-6 Korean era M-422a and Popeye insignia in exacting detail, the patch itself being made in the USA on wartime era Schiffli machines as the originals would have been. Size 44 Pit to pit; 23" Backlength; 26.5" Shoulders; 20" shoulder to cuff 25.5"
