Iron Pyrite Sun Dollar with Shell ~ 3” Diameter, Fool’s Gold ☼

Up for auction is an iron pyrite sun with an embedded shell ☼. Iron pyrite is sometimes called fool's gold because of its metallic luster and pay brass-yellow hue. On one side of the disk is a shell. I don’t know what kind of shell it is. The disk has a diameter of 3” (7⅝ cm) and weighs 3.4 oz (97 grams). 

This iron pyrite sun came loose as part of an estate. Its provenance is lost. Visually, the disk is in excellent condition.
