Do the Forties in style with this stunning double-breasted boating blazer from London luxe brand John G Hardy (by Royal Appointment). The blazer was hand tailored in England; naturally it's of outstanding quality. The blazer is recently made, although the stylings and materials are highly reminiscent of earlier eras, making it ideal as part of a 1940s-themed outfit.

The price of this blazer would be around £400 brand new in the shops; similar jackets in comparable condition routinely sell for £100+ on eBay - so this is a great opportunity to buy an outstanding item at a very reasonable price.

The blazer is tailored from a silky-fine pure wool cloth (its actual character is best captured in the close-up photographs). The jacket is naturally breathable, and very comfortable to wear.

Features of the blazer include: beautiful tailored hourglass fit; best quality buttons; three outside pockets; three pockets on the inside - two wallet / document pockets and a ticket pocket; a satin viscose lining in the torso; lighter striped viscose linings in the sleeves; twin rear vents.

The blazer has been lightly used, and is in very good overall condition: initial impressions are that it's flawless / immaculate / near-new, but close scrutiny reveals a minuscule - and I really do mean minuscule - flaw in the fabric high on the left hand sleeve (photos 9 and 10). This is not a moth hole, rather a tiny pull in the cloth which measures less than a millimetre across.

There's also a little light wear and a couple of small faint marks to the lining - these will be invisible during normal use (photo 11).

Most importantly the blazer is totally free of moth damage, scent or odour. Don't be fooled by the light creasing apparent in the pictures - this will naturally fall out with use.

The blazer is a labelled as a '42 Long' with sleeves that have been professionally taken up by an inch, so it fits like a 42 Regular, which should be suitable for someone around 5' 10" tall with a 42" chest.
