This is a beautifully designed 2" x 3 1/2" card with color images of the mission patch for Apollo 11 and a NASA emblem. Attached to the card is an authentic piece of gold Kapton foil that was part of an insulating blanket that covered the base of the Apollo 11 lunar lander, Eagle.  The piece measures about 1/4" x 3/4".

This piece of Kapton foil comes from a larger section that was removed from the lunar lander prior to launch, due to a defect in a squib valve. In order to remove and replace the valve, some of the Kapton thermal blanket had to be removed and replaced as well.

Since this piece was removed prior to launch, it did not fly in space or to the moon. But it was a part of the lunar lander, Eagle, and a fine artifact from the historic Apollo 11 mission at a very reasonable price.

The scan I've posted makes the foil look black. Actually it's a bright, shiny gold.

So, for just $14.95 with FREE shipping you can own a genuine piece of the Apollo 11 lunar lander, Eagle.

This piece comes with a copy of the original letter of authenticity from the Grumman employee who removed the Kapton blanket.
