Tektronix TDS754A Oscilloscope 4 Channel 500MHz 2GS/s 13 1F 1M 2F
Passes self test. Passes SPC. After running the self tests and SPC, no additional errors appear in the error log.
All
4 channels were tested for compliance with Tektronix bandwidth
specification @ 500Mhz and all 4 pass. (Actually tested ok up to 600Mhz on all 4 channels)
Input channels 1, 2, 3, and 4 were also connected to a uncalibrated pulse generator set to 100kHz, 1.0V
13 - Add RS-232C and Centronics hardcopy interfaces
1F - Floppy disc drive
1M - Extends standard acquisition length from 50,000 points per channel to 130,000 samples on three or four channels, 250,000 samples on two channels, and 500,000 samples on one channel.
2F - Extended waveform math: FFT, integration and differentiation
Power cord is included.
Probes and function generator are not included.
There are scuffs, scratches, sticker residue and worn spots.
All buttons and knobs work. Floppy works. GPIB works.
May need calibration if you plan to use for compliance testing.
READ BELOW ONLY IF YOU NEED REPAIRS ON YOUR OSCILLOSCOPE
TDS700 Series Oscilloscope Repair and Upgrade. (For US addresses only)
This
service is offered for work performed on your oscilloscope. Tektronix
oscilloscopes including TDS644B, TDS744A, TDS754A, TDS754C, TDS754D,
TDS784A, TDS784C, TDS784D, If your scope is not in the list, you can
always message me to see what I can do for you. TDS5xxA, TDS6xxA,
TDS694C and TDS794D are repairable but I am not offering repairs on
these models at this time unless the issue is only a CRT issue. This
offer is not a guarantee I can fix your scope, some scopes have issues
that require parts that are no longer available. In fact Tektronix
makes little attempt to repair these scopes and would prefer to just
sell you a replacement already working scope for allot more $. In the
event I can’t repair your scope, the scope would be returned to you so
you would be out the time and the shipping fees which for the lower 48
would likely be no more than $100 shipping (about $50 both ways). In
the non-repairable case, it’s likely I could offer you a fair $ based on
the scopes condition and I keep the broken scope. If you were to
provide me a detailed accurate description of your scope issues with
pictures beforehand, it’s likely I could provide you with a reasonable
probability of fixing your scope.
General Repair
(not including CRT issues, see below) - If your scope doesn’t power
up, doesn’t pass the self-test, doesn’t pass SPC (signal path
compensation) I can usually fix these issues. I will re-calibrate the
scope after repairs are performed, but since I am not an accredited LAB,
there will be no calibration certificate provided. I have access to a
multitude of accredited LABs, so I can provide a CERT if need. You pay
the extra costs of obtaining the CERT. I have no control of the LAB’s
CERT schedule, could be 2 to 3 weeks. The cost for this general repair
service (not including CERT) is $300 plus shipping costs.
Upgrade Service
- I can upgrade your 500Mhz scope to 1Ghz. This service assumes there
are no functional issues with your 500Mhz scope. If functional issues
are detected with your 500Mhz scope, repair fees will apply (see other
sections). The cost for the 500Mhz scope to 1Ghz service is $200. This
cost includes a re-calibration, no calibration certificate provided. You
pay the shipping fees.
New Old Stock CRT Installation
– Is your CRT dim, has splotches, or just plain not showing anything at
all. I can replace the old CRT with a brand new color CRT which is
exactly the same model CRT (OEM) as was installed at the factory. The
cost for this service is $200 which includes parts. I.E. - $200 plus
shipping gets you a new CRT installed. Sometimes the CRT being dead is
not the only issue with the scope so additional cost described above in
the General Repair section may apply after fixing the CRT issue. If the
scope is already in my hands for CRT repair and needs more repair, the
General Repair fees drop to $200. (New Old Stock CRT Installation +
General Repair = $400 plus shipping)
Replace CRT with LCD
- The LCD replacement has several benefits. It significantly reduces
the weight of the scope and generates far less heat than the CRT. On
those hot 100 degree Texas days, a LCD is greatly appreciated. The
particular LCD to be installed does not disable the rear VGA port like
most other LCDs do. The cost for this service is $400 which includes
parts. I.E. - $400 plus shipping gets you a new LCD installed.
You
pay for all shipping costs. I have a secure receiving location and
never had a lost package that was inbound to me, but it could happen.
And since my receiving location is a business address in the middle of
the DFW metroplex you will not have to pay the significantly higher
shipping costs for home or remote home delivery. Shipping shall be
either UPS or FedEx (both ways).
Any
required parts found to be missing from the scope upon receipt are not
covered under the flat repair fee. It’s hard to repair a component that
is missing. I can replace missing parts, but you pay for the
replacement part in this case. Any parts removed or replaced with
functionally equivalent parts during the repair process are not returned
to the customer.
Calibration
Service – I can re-calibrate the scope after repairs are performed.
Re-calibration is included after a General Repair, but if you want a
calibration after a CRT or LCD update, I can do that for an extra $100.
After the scope passes the self test and SPC test, the scope can still
fail the calibration so it's a good idea to have it calibrated. There
is no CERT provided with this CAL, but I do guarantee the re-calibrated
scope will pass a NIST traceable certified laboratory calibration.
Turn
Around Time - This time can vary based on my work load. Generally I
will elevate your repair to the top of the list. I work 14 hour days, 7
days a week and there is always too much to do, but I do have human
limitations like needing to sleep and eat periodically like the rest of
us. So don't expect the scope to ship a day after I receive it.
Guaranty
against recurrence of same problem(s) is 1 year. Tamper proof labels
will be applied. If these labels are compromised, the guarantee expires.
