The bird's eye chili plant is a perennial with small, tapering fruits, often two or three, at a node. The fruits are very pungent. Big pods and big producer. Will keep you stocked with Birds Eyes chilli for a very long time!
Produces hot fire cracker chilli almost all year long.
Great plants to look at, pretty pods changes colours as they ripen and sit upright like little rockets on the plant.
The bird's eye chili is small, but is quite hot (piquant). It measures around 150,000 – 225,000 Scovilles, which is at the lower half of the range for the hotter habanero but still many times more spicy than a jalapeño.
